DEALING WITH OILY SKIN

Even the driest skin can become one big oil slick during pregnancy, thanks to surging hormones. But with the right skin care regime and products designed to control oil, you can minimize breakouts and maintain fresh, glowing skin. Try the following tips:

Don't Wash More, Wash Better
Washing your face more frequently won't keep blemishes at bay. In fact, it will cause your oil glands to kick into overdrive. Instead, wash with a soap-free cleanser that won't strip your skin of natural oils but will leave it clean and radiant.

Handle Breakouts with Care
If you've washed as you should, kept your hands away from your face, and you still end up with a breakout, do the right thing. Don't pick the zits! The oil from your fingers will only bring more oil to the pimple and make a bad situation worse.

Camouflage Breakouts
To diminish the appearance of occasional breakouts, use a light concealer directly on blemishes, blending at the edges, and a light, oil-free foundation that evens out skin tone and reduces the redness of broken capillaries. And always use cosmetics that are non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) to prevent additional breakouts.

But all the cosmetics and skin care in the world won't help skin that isn't nourished from the inside. So be sure you're getting enough sleep, drinking your eight glasses of water a day, and eating a balanced diet.
