PREGNANCY BACK PAIN

As your pregnancy progresses, you may experience back pain more regularly, thanks to added weight and other changes in your body. But with a few ounces of prevention, and a few tips for relief, you can ease the pain and get back on your feet.

  1. Good Posture
Pay attention to your posture when standing. Tilt your shoulders forward and keep your pelvis in a neutral position (not tipped forward).

  2. Change Positions Frequently
Don't sit, stand, or walk for long periods.

  3. Stay Flat
Put away your high heels until after the baby arrives. They may look great, but they'll leave you in pain.

  4. Elevate Your Feet
When you can, prop your feet up to improve circulation.

  5. Support Your Lumbar
When you are sitting, place a pillow in the curve of your back.

  6. Sleep Firmly
Sleep on a firm mattress or place a board under your current one.

  7. Sleep Supported
Use a body pillow when you sleep on your side. Tuck the pillow between you knees to keep your back aligned.

I am 21 weeks and the body pillow is a gud idea. Its a pity some of us are working so we can hardly avoid walking/stan a lil longer.

I have a body pillow and I just couldn't wait to use it. I'm turning 20 weeks the 28th and my back pains are kicking in hard. I'm goin to try all of them expecially the body pillow one because it involves sleep :)

I have had back pain since I was 20 weeks.. I have tried everything, nothing helps.. This doesn't mention anything about having ginormous boobs on top of being pregnant!

Number 2 isn't a very good tip for someone with a job. There isn't much I can do about not being on my feet all day.

This is indeed a good idea, as I get to 19 weeks I guess I will need to start using the body pillo.
