ACCUTANE IS UNSAFE DURING PREGNANCY

Accutane is not safe during pregnancy. Accutane is an oral medication used to treat severe acne and is known to cause serious birth defects such as brain malformations, mental retardation, heart defects, and facial abnormalities, including small or missing ears. Accutane is also associated with an increased risk of miscarriage.

If you've taken Accutane beyond the 15th day after conception, your baby has a 35 percent chance of developing birth defects. So if you are pregnant, stop using the medication immediately and tell your doctor.
