Foundation makeup is designed to hide imperfections, blemishes, and dark circles and is the base on which you will build your makeup. Use the sheerest concealer and foundation to create the most natural look and choose each to match your skin tone. To find the color closest to your own skin tone, apply a stripe to your jawline or along your neck, where your skin is fairest, and blend. The closest match will disappear.
Start by applying a light moisturizer and letting your skin absorb it for five minutes. Using a damp makeup sponge, apply a layer of foundation in short, downward strokes, starting at your forehead and working down to just below your jawline. Applying concealer and foundation using a damp makeup sponge or synthetic brush will create a fine layer which will blend more completely than a thick layer applied with your fingers.
Use a creamy concealer to cover any undereye circles. With a small, flat synthetic makeup brush, blend a light layer of concealer from the inner corner to approximately the mid-point of your eye. To cover blemishes or red spots, dab a thicker concealer on top of the mark with a brush and blend.
To help your concealer and foundation last longer, give it a dusting of loose powder. Dip a large, fluffy brush into the powder and tap the handle to remove excess before brushing the powder just beneath your eyes and across your T-zone.
